Actionspace provides two options to complete a task: with or without approval of the person who assigned the task.
By default, all tasks except your own tasks require approval before final completion. This creates an atmosphere where the task assignee is responsible for the results and the task author can clearly indicate if he or she is satisfied with them.
However, for projects or business workflows where completion of one task automatically entails the next one (e.g., approving a specific document or preparing goods for shipment), Actionspace allows to withdraw the approval stage and complete the task immediately after clicking Complete. Actionspace allows to create automatic workflows for projects or business processes in order to make it faster and more effective.
In order to withdraw an approval stage, simply uncheck the Approval Required option when you create a new task or edit an existing one. You can change it later as well. If you have assigned the task without approval and then decide that you want to have this task approved by you, select the option again (and vice versa).
Please note that by default the ability to change task completion mode is disabled. To enable it, the system administrator should go to Administration Panel of Actionspace and tick the option Enable Users to Choose Task Completion Mode in the Task Completion Mode Settings section. The changes are saved automatically.
After that, all users will get the option Approval Required activated for all their tasks which are not completed yet and not waiting for approval. The change will affect all users in the subscription.
